Juice, stir and blend : Summer time drinks

As the sun starts to shine a little brighter, and Spring starts to blossom, here are three of our favourite summer time drink recipes. Enjoy!

1. Super Greens Juice

Nothing feels or tastes better then a delicious, vibrant green vegetable juice.  A great way to start the morning as the weather warms up.

serves 2

* 1 cup of tightly packed kale (or spinach if you can't source kale)
* 3 stalks of celery
* 1 1/2 pears or green apple for sweetness
* 1 lebanese cucumber
* 1 cm of fresh ginger
* 1/2 lemon, zest and pith removed

method

Wash ingredients thoroughly and juice (put kale, lemon and ginger through the juicer first).  Stir and serve!

2. Agave-sweetened lemonade

Agave nectar is a fantastic healthy alternative to sugar and artificial sweeteners.  Derived from the Agave succulent, it has a similar taste to honey yet a much lower glycemic index and is completely Vegan!
